Cancelled my preordered ED Special K with dollsandfriends and decided to just go with the Standard K. The outfit isn't that important and I'm just ready for Hank to get home!
But, anyways, he'll be shipped by Tuesday at the latest and should be here by Friday-Saturday! After this boy, I think I'm going to have to focus on Minis for a while. There's nothing better than an awesome 60cm resin beauty, but my bank account just can't take anymore SD-sized dolls right now. Hopefully I won't snap and buy another full-sized doll anytime soon... though Zaoll Muse still tempts me greatly.

A new doll company has come out - Angel of Dream. 1/4 dolls are only $150 + you get a free faceup until their promotion is over at the end of the month (free faceups go until the middle of next month I think). But, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to get a bjd for my sister.
She instantly fell in love with Chen when we were looking through their selection. She even said she'd name him Killie if she could afford him... WEEEELLLL... "Killie" has been ordered. I think he will be a perfect starter doll for her. His smaller size will be easier for her to tote around with her, plus it'll be easier for her to afford clothes for him. She's only 14, and won't be able to get a job until next year, so MSD clothes will be easier on her.
Here's the cute lil' thang.
She's wanted her own doll ever since I got Imari back in... March? So, I couldn't pass up AoD. Since I have Hank on layaway still ($290 left... grr...), I had to put Killie on a credit card. I don't like the idea of using a CC to buy dolls, but I think I can pay him off in a decent amount of time. Especially since I'll be able to work more now that school is out. (Which I didn't mention - I graduated!! WOOTS! College starts for me in January.)
But, anyways, I'll send in my invoice Thursday - they said it takes around 2-4 weeks to ship... he *should* arrive around June 28th. Possibly the week before if I'm lucky. If I'm impressed with him, I may have to buy a Chen myself... or maybe a Wang Zi. I'm just curious about the resin quality... $150 is cheap for a 1/4 BJD (actually it's cheap for a tiny... that's sad.) I hope the quality is as good as the customer service has been so far.
OT- I think that after I pay off Hank, I may have to focus on MSD-sized dolls. 1/3rds are just too hard to afford right now, and it's only going to get harder once I start College in January. So, I'm shopping around for 1/4ths right now... I'd like a girl, I think. Maybe a CP minifee...
EDIT (June 5) - Well, the person I borrowed the credit card from was doing worse in the money department than she let on. So, I've had to cancel my order to AoD and I'll have to save up and get him for Jenny later. Unfortunately, the prices will rise a bit - which was my reason for using the credit card, but what can ya do? He'll just have to be put off a little while, because right now, I'm still paying on my layaway with DollsandFriends.

I bought a new wig from a member on DOA... origionally, it was meant for Dorian... but Imari kinda jacked it... as usual. She's the spoiled one in the family. She gets to try everything out first.
The lighting was kinda funny today. It was overcast one minute, sunny the next. So... ya.

Bad news: I have to start making smaller payments on Hank. I'm still paying Dollsandfriends around $15-35 a week on him, so I'm still getting there, but it's going to take a bit longer than anticipated. I'm just so glad they're letting me pay weekly... I have a terrible habit of spending the money if it's accessable in my account, so monthly payments are hard for me. *has issues*
Good news: The reason my funds are suffering is.... I GOT A CAR! Yaaaaay! ^^ My dream car too! A Volkswagen New Beetle in black! Fear it's cuuute O___O I've wanted this car since I was 9 years old and now it's MINE! Mwah!

I desperately want some blue seat covers and daisy taillight covers.

Yeah, I'm on the road now.... you have been given a fair warning.

I'm 17, so this is my very first car. I'm so proud that I was able to get it. It's like a small step into the real world. Oh yeah, and it's April already... that means I'll actually be a legal adult in 20 days. Man does time fly or what? Hmm.. I wonder if I could bribe Mom into paying off Hank as a birthday present.... *plots*
Anyways, I'm starting to ramble, so here's a funny shot of Maggie (just because). She had gotten her food all over her face, so she had to have a bath... She somehow missed out on the whole "cat-like grace" thing. It's funny though, she doesn't even mind being scrubbed down. She just stands there and lets me bathe her like a dog. *giggles* She'll even nudge my fingers when I scrub her head. Sooo cute. <3
She's so tiny you wouldn't think she was full grown.
*is rambling again* Ok... I'm done. *resists typing more*

Well, I've been talking about giving my kids some piercings for a while now, so I finallly quit procrastinating and took a trip to Home Depot. Found a 1/32" dremel bit, but it only came in a pack with like six more bits, so I ended up paying $7 for the damn thing. I fashioned myself a little tool so I'd have a better grip on the bit. I'd say things went pretty smoothly. The only thing I've got to do is find Dorian a better hoop because my makeshift one out of wire looks pretty sad. Any ideas? Maybe I could find some hoops for toddlers or something.
I also picked up some sanding sponges and a new exacto knife. So, Dorian's seams are finally sanded. I was REALLY nervous about sanding him at first for some reason, but once I got started, I think the whole process is pretty fool-proof. And I've always heard that you should start at about a 400 grit and work your way up to like 1200 or so, but I used a 150 grit (which at times didn't seem rough enough) and then smoothed things out with a 320 grit. Worked really well and he looks so much more... complete.
Photo time. These are not exactly professional-quality pics here, folks. Forgive them, but it's like 5:30am here... So ya.
Dorian and his sad excuse for a hoop earring.
Imari sporting my prom earrings. I can't wait to go to Claires and buy her more.
The bit couldn't have been a more perfect size. There's just enough space for a regular-sized earring peg to fit.
My extremely professional tool... *cough* Ok, so it's more like a drill bit superglued into a dowel pin... but it worked didn't it?!
----- And now some kitty cuteness, just cuz'.

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful down here in Georgia, so Jenny and I just had to take the kids out for a stroll.

It's so nice to have somebody else who appreciates the loveliness of these dolls. *evil smirk* And it's nice to have an extra pair of arms around... two dolls can get pretty heavy ^^;
Oh ya.. I also made myself a new User Icon.

Go me.

Yes, Hank (Special K) is $200 closer to coming home as of yesterday. Only... *counts* $570 to go. I don't think I'm doing too bad, being that I've only had him on layaway for like 3 weeks.
Just needed to keep my journal up to date ^^ Oh yeah, and for all my IM buddies, I'm having some serious issues with my MSN Messenger... so I should be back soon.

Holy Lord in Heaven above... I'd like to know how I was able to get Imari in just 4 weeks. I mean really.... I've been saving for what seems to be WEEKS now for my Elfdoll K, and all I've saved so far is $143.... out of $770. Good grief. I guess back then I didn't have as many financial obligations as I do now... I mean, as of now, I've got my cell phone bill, my computer payment, money for groceries each week, gas money, and break money for when I'm at work. I know it doesn't seem like much to you guys who own your own houses, kids, cars, land, etc... but being that I'm making about $70 a week on average, the money doesn't like to stretch very far.
*sigh* As long as I'm able to pay $75 a month to DollsandFriends, then I'm fine. But, I'd really like to be able to pay more... I want my boy (who I've decided to name Hank) home earlier.
Memo to me: Marry into money.

*gaspy breath* OMG... have you seen the new Elfdoll K?! He's freakin' gorgeous... O_____O A real MAN. http://dec66292.dreamweb.co.kr/shop/step1.php?number=574
"50 Limited Edition"??? That'd better not mean only 50 pieces worldwide... please someone tell me that's not what it means. I need to find a way to get $770 quick!
... I wonder just how good that new security system is at the bank... >:)
[EDIT] My gosh! He's already sold out! In like... 10 minutes! On Elfdoll's help board, they said they'll be releasing a standard version of him in about 2-3 months, so... I guess I'll see if I can get him then. Damnit, I want the Special Edition. *pouts* I need a credit card.
[EDITS AGAIN] I found him for preorder of the Dolls and Friends site... and I preordered him. $75 deposit and then I can pay the rest in layaway payments. Yeah, I cracked big time.

I finally bought some tacky glue, and sueded Imari. That pliver stuff worked like a charm! She poses much better now... not perfectly, but better. I still have to play around with her ankles before she's able to stand, but that's due to her small feet. I think it's harder to get female dolls to stand anyway... I mean, their breasts are solid resin... hard to balance. As with male dolls, you don't really have to worry about that problem.
The sueding was alot easier than I'd anticipated, but for some reason it was harder than hell to get her restrung last night. >__< It's so strange... sometimes when I'll restring her it's so easy I can do it by myself. But, last night I had to enlist the help of my sister and on top of that, I accidentally bent the hook in one of her hands. Easily fixed, but what a pain she was being... If it weren't for those damn knots popping through every time, it would've been much easier. *sigh*

Naw, just kidding. I just hate how much money I always end up spending on eBay. I guess I'm more to blame for that though.
I finally found a nice (and affordable) wig for Dorian. Maybe it'll be here waiting for him when he gets back home. I've been wanting a JPop wig for a while anyways.
I wanted something long, but not girlishly long. The lenght of this one was spot-on. With his red eyes I just bought and this wig, he's going to look fierce. :D
I also found some pretty little shoes to go with that new white dress I bought (see last post).
$12.79 shipped from eBay seller releaserain.
